MIDGES
Chironomids are usually the first hatch of the season as interior lakes thaw and these lake bottom dwellers emerge. From marl bed emergences on lakes, to the massive midge columns famous on rivers such as the Missouri, midges are an important food source for trout. Despite their size any serious fly angler will possess an arsenal of these lil critters in their box. (More patterns to be added in 2021)
